Exquisite antique Louis XV-style writing desk, crafted in rosewood veneer with marquetry inlays and adorned with gilt bronze (ormolu) mounts.
The serpentine silhouette, slender cabriole legs, and brass gallery on the top define the refined elegance typical of 19th-century French craftsmanship.
The slant-front lid is decorated with a delicate floral marquetry motif featuring a musical trophy — finely detailed and surrounded by an inlaid line border. Inside, there are small drawers and writing compartments.
The piece demonstrates the lightness and grace of the Rococo revival, ideal for use as a decorative writing desk, hallway accent, or vanity piece.

Condition
Overall fair to good antique condition with visible wear consistent with age and use: noticeable veneer cracks and lifting along the sides and front panel, small veneer losses and old restorations around the edges, minor oxidation on ormolu mounts. Structural stability remains good. This authentic wear contributes to its rich historical character and charm.

Materials
Rosewood veneer, fruitwood inlay, gilt bronze mounts, brass gallery.
